Knitting - Socks

There seems to be a buzz on the internet and in the podcasts about knitting socks. I found this Patons varigated yarn that is 70% Wool and 30% Soy. The colors were beautiful and it feels very soft and warm so I decided to knit socks on the plane while traveling to Cancun.

Now I understand. Knitting socks are satisfying because they are portable, and relatively quick to complete. I finished this pair on the trip and started another which has led to a budding Knit Picks obsession....Oh no!

Hi Fiber Brain! I love Patons SWS and have used your sock colorway in a shawl. But be careful, I think your socks are going to felt the moment you step foot into them. It doesn't take much for Patons SWS to felt. I had such a hard time trying to rip out stitches on that blinking shawl after a massive screw up. Since then I've used it for felted bowls from the book "One Skein".

Oh, how disappointing. I've had some trouble with the yarn sticking when I needed to rip out some stitches. Oh well, they're already done so I'll give them a try and see what happens. Thanks for letting me know.
